Autograph-hunters had a field day getting his signature. Thelucky few got to pose for pictures with him too. Though Fleming wasn’t inany mood to give a pitch report at the party, he didn’t mind talking aboutthe warmth that India showers on him every time he flies down to thiscountry.
“I like coming to India,” he said, adding,“Every time, it’s a new experience for me. The people are so warmand hospitable. They make me feel special.”
While cricket-talkwasn’t on his agenda, he said that he was happy with the securityarrangements made for IPL3.
“The security arrangements arevery good. We have no complaints. As players, we are here to entertain andconcentrate on our game. In the present environment, it is unnerving foreveryone to play under so much of security.”
With suchstringent security concern of players and coaches and frequent flyingcriss-crossing the country for IPL3, we wondered whether he had managed to gosight-seeing.
“No, I haven’t managed to see the countryin detail. We have packed schedules every time we come down to India. That leaveus with little time to do any sight-seeing,” he added.
Withtongue-firmly-in cheek we risk asking if about whether he has kept an eye on thebevy of Indian beauties? A little stumped by the question, he kissed his weddingring and said, “Ah! I’m married with kids. My wife will be veryangry if she hears this question.”
Well, we get the drift— Fleming is a successful player and a committed husband.
